Open & Agile Smart
Cities & Communities
Open & Agile Smart Cities and Communities (OASC) is a global network of over 160 communities in more than 30 countries with the goal to shape and create a market for smart city data and services. OASC connects cities & communities worldwide to learn from each other and exchange digital, data-driven solutions based on Minimal Interoperability Mechanisms (MIMs), a set of practical capabilities based on open technical specifications that allow cities and communities to replicate and scale solutions globally. Unlike any other city network, OASC and its member communites are driven by experimentation and implementation.
OASC represents its member communities towards a diverse set of stakeholders, including international standards developing organisations such as ITU and ETSI, European and international institutions, as well as research and industry. To achieve its goals, OASC works directly with city administrations in working groups, the OASC Technology Council and the OASC Council of Cities. The Network offers access to the CxC Academy which delivers theoretical and practical knowledge concerning the digital transformation of cities and communities - with the knowledge and tools to experiment with and implement innovative digital solutions in the city. Showcasing only deployed solutions, and the products and services which underpin those solutions, the CxC Catalogue highlights best practices from communities around the world. With this tool, cities can share best practices, or learn from the success of others, connecting directly with vendors and municipalities involved.
