International Data Corporation

IDC (International Data Corporation) is a premier global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, IT events, telecommunications, and consumer technology markets, with over 1000 analysts across the world. IDC's Foundation Research is based on approximately 300,000 interviews per year to ICT enterprise users or suppliers. IDC’s models and research tools routinely deliver continuously updated data on global ICT markets that is collected in a global database (IDC’s Worldwide Blackbook).

For this project IDC will leverage its foresight research and understanding of emerging technologies and markets and in particular its extensive knowledge and experience in Smart Cities, working with both the public and private sectors.

IDC has vast  experience in data spaces, being a member of the BoD of BDVA, contributing to the TF10 on data spaces of that organisation and its synergies with DSBA. IDC is the coordinator of OPEN DEI, the action who has generated the first guidelines to build data spaces and is involved in the preparatory actions of the data spaces for manufacturing (EU-DATASP4CE), tourism (DATES) and Green Deal (GREAT); in this case as coordinator. It also collaborates with DS4SSCC as part of its ecosystem.

IDC provides data to the EC on multiple technologies and markets, including the Data Market Study that we run since 2014 where we quantify several indicators of the data economy. As such, IDC provides key knowledge for the elaboration of exploitation and sustainability of this data space.
