FIWARE

The FIWARE Foundation was created in 2016 as a result of a long path of innovation projects in the scope of the ‘Future Internet PPP’ launched by the European Commission and several leading European companies and research organisations.

Since then, more than 550 members at different membership levels have joined the non-profit organisation which is working for the public good. The foundation, which has its headquarters in Berlin, is currently employing around 30 people from different profiles (technical, marketing, management and innovation). In addition, FIWARE is participating in more than 20 public funded projects.

As partner of Data Spaces Support Center and DS4SSCC-DEP projects, FIWARE brings to the project its large background on data spaces, especially in the smart cities domain, where FIWARE has become a de facto standard technology for many countries worldwide. More than 300 cities and regions in over 30 countries are creating their digitisation based on FIWARE technology and standards. The FIWARE team to be assigned to the project will be probably formed by Clara Pezuela, Vice-President of Funded Programs and expert in smart cities solutions, open innovation and business development; and by Chandra Challagonda, senior architect and expert in FIWARE technology especially applied to smart cities and mobility.
